The socio-economic inclusion of women in West Africa is the lowest in the world. They represent more than half of the workforce in many developing countries, yet they are the ones most affected by poverty, disease, famine, and lack of education. This widespread observation calls for greater awareness, as gender equality is an essential condition for sustainable development. In West Africa, the Gender Equality Index reveals an inequality in favor of men, with an overall score of 0.640 (64%), thus showing a significant gap of 36% compared to parity.
